Fav Flowers

Hello MPS Voice viewers. It is I, the big cheese back again with another blog post. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful spring so far. I hope you are all enjoying the weather. I know that I sure am. I am enjoying when it’s warm… Not so much the extreme weather changes that we’re having. I am so done with winter and I am ready to start spring full-time instead of just part-time.

Anyhow, I wanted to write a little blog post in connection to my upcoming episode. I wanted to get into the spring and gardening mood by discussing some of my favorite flowers. One fun fact about me is that I freaking love plants! I have a little shelf in my room that has about seven plants on it. When I’m older, I’ve always had a dream of planting my own herb garden and also having a large flower garden in my backyard!

For this list, I’m going to take you through my top five favorite flowers. I am a plant lover, so it was hard to leave out different bushes, shrubs, and other plants. But sacrifices must be made for the greater good. That greater good being a more consistent blog post. I plan to list my top five favorite flowers in no particular order. Let’s get this started!

Sunflowers: I have always loved sunflowers. I grew up with my dad planting sunflowers every summer in our garden. I love how tall they are! They were a staple of my family’s garden. When we would look out through our back window, we could always see the tall sunflower trees slowly blowing in the wind. In case you didn’t know, a single sunflower is actually made up of thousands of tiny flowers. The center of a sunflower is packed with hundreds if not thousands of mini individual flowers that eventually turn into seeds!

Lilies: I think that lilies are such a versatile flower. They come in so many different colors. Because of this, you can get all different sorts of lilies and never get bored of them! They are probably my favorite flower to put in my room, just because they are so colorful! One important fact about lilies is that they can actually be very toxic to cats. So make sure that you keep your lilies away from cats!

Daffodils: These are beautiful plants. My grandma really loves the color yellow and is a big fan of daffodils. Because of her love for these flowers I have been exposed to daffodils from a very young age. One of my favorite things about daffodils is they grow in meadows and forests. They are very much so considered a wild flower and I think that they are so beautiful to come across in the wild!

4) Interviewed an older friend about her life:

Poppies: Poppy flowers are so majestic. I think that they are a really rad plant. There are a few medical uses that this flower has in particular. If you didn’t know, poppy seeds actually contain small amounts of morphine in them. Ancient Egyptian doctors used poppy’s medically because of this reason! Poppy’s also have quite a lot of symbolism tied to them as well. Poppy’s in particular are a big symbol of sleep and death. Very somber I know, but they are just beautiful plants to me!

Lavender: I love the smell of lavender. I also love to use culinary lavender when baking! Lavender is a perennial flowering plant, which means that it will grow year after year. I love a good perennial plant because you don’t have to constantly replant them! Someday, when I’m older I would love to have a lavender garden wherever I may reside.

Well, that’s all for today folks. I really hope that you enjoyed reading through my top five favorite flowers. One last thing that I want to leave you with before you go… Try buying flowers for yourself as a form of self care. I do this every so often and it has radically improved my life. It feels lovely to take some time to go drive or walk somewhere and grab some flowers just for you. You deserve it!

Happy spring and happy gardening, the big cheese 🧀🌸
