It was really amazing how I got to spontaneously meet Mr.Bobby Joe Champion at the North Commons Park reconstruction celebration. It was also great how he was so open to learning more about Jazz88, and interested to know what I do there. On top of that when I brought up how I go to Hopkins and run track there, he told me how both his sons went to Hopkins. Even mentioned how one of his sons broke a school record for track and field. Even the coincidence how in the reconstruction of the park they are adding a track for everyone, is a great chance for people to have and start an interest in track and field. Personally, I think track is the best sport to make friends and meet new people. Making those connections will be the best moments in someone’s life, because it definitely is one of the most prominent memories I’ve had during my years at high school. I can tell Mr. Bobby Joe Champion is a great person and is passionate about this project for the community. I’m glad that they are giving kids the opportunity like to me to be able to go somewhere so close and local. So it’s very accessible. I could definitely see myself coming to the North Commons park gym once it opens so that I can go there in my free time if I want to play some volleyball, or run on the track. And even invite some friends and swim at the new pool.
