MPS Celebrates Women’s History With “Who’s That Lady”
Minneapolis Public Schools is celebrating International Women’s History Month with an event titled “Who’s That Lady?” on March 17 at the Davis Center. Bethune Arts Elementary Principal Dr. La Tonya Overton joins Manny Hill to talk about the event, which will feature students from Bethune Arts and Nellie Stone Johnson Elementary Schools, and will highlight prominent women in history through interactive presentations. Dr. Overton emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s achievements and resilience, and highlights Nellie Stone Johnson and Lucy Craft Laney as local historical figures. The event is Tuesday March 17 from 10-11am at the Davis Center, 1250 West Broadway in Minneapolis.
